Rebecca Seiler Jennifer Shaw
As time passes, things are changing it seems every second. This news story seemed to include changes from every direction. A story, by USA Today, discussed how women are starting to have a big impact in the field of engineering, specifically in automotive.
In the Society of Automotive Engineers consist of around 28,000 members, yet only 1,500, 5%, are women. However, that 5% are making a big impact in the industry. Engineers at Ford Automotive, like Rebecca Seiler and Jennifer Shaw, are working their hardest to make a vehicle much safer place for people to be in. Seiler, the only woman in a team of 30, is a key engineer working on the technology that alerts a driver and automatically stops the car if it senses a collision!
Then there is Shaw, who is "supervisor of an active safety team of 11 which includes two other women", helped develop features in Ford cars that allow them to self park and notify drivers if there is something in the blind spots of the car. She also is working on Ford's keyless ignition (O'Donnell).

After taking a look at what these incredible women are doing with their skills people should be inspirited, man or woman, to go out and make something of themselves in any field they want. No matter what the stereotypes are of what fields men or women can or can not be apart of. These women show that anyone can accomplish great things to make the world a safer and better place.
